Radisson Hotel Group is significantly accelerating its expansion across India under its “India Booster” strategy, with an ambitious target of reaching 500 hotels in the country by 2030.
The group currently operates 146 hotels across India and is targeting more than 150 operating properties by the end of 2026. India continues to be a key growth market for the group, with its expansion strategy increasingly focused on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities alongside established metropolitan markets.
The next phase of development is expected to extend into destinations such as Ujjain, Tadoba and Namakkal, highlighting the growing potential of emerging cities, religious tourism and leisure destinations across the country.
The group’s growth during 2026 has already been substantial. In the first half of the year, Radisson Hotel Group signed 18 new hotels representing 2,082 rooms in India and opened four new properties. Its development pipeline has subsequently grown to 98 hotels, further strengthening its long-term presence in the Indian hospitality market.
What This Means for Hospitality Professionals
The expansion of the hotel industry creates opportunities well beyond the development of new rooms and properties. Every new hotel requires a strong workforce across hotel operations, Food & Beverage, sales and marketing, revenue management, human resources, engineering and leadership.
For hospitality students and young professionals, this geographical expansion presents an important opportunity. As international and domestic hotel brands continue moving into emerging destinations, career opportunities are increasingly likely to extend beyond India’s traditional hospitality markets.
For the next generation of hoteliers, understanding where the industry is expanding could be just as important as understanding how the industry operates.
